A **station** in Irsaal Goods Transport Software is one of the company's offices: the place goods are booked at, and the place they are unloaded and handed over at. **Freight Rates** is an optional rate card per route that suggests the freight on the booking form. You manage stations under **Admin → Stations** (administrator only) and rates under **Operations → Freight Rates**. Every company already has one station from the day it signs up (named after the company's city), and the plan decides how many more you can open. This guide covers both.

## On this screen: Stations

Open **Admin → Stations** (page **Stations (Offices)**: "Every office you book from or deliver at. Each station has its own code, cash account, staff and riders."). It shows "N of M stations used". Each station is a card with its name and code, **Active** or **Inactive**, and its own counters **Booked**, **Received**, **Waiting** and **To hand over**, the **Cash** balance, the number of staff logins and riders, and **Edit**, **Activate** / **Deactivate** and delete buttons. When the plan's limit is reached the button becomes "N / N — Upgrade to open another station" (or "Add another station" where the plan sells extra ones).

## How do I add a station?

1. Press **Add Station**. The form is **Add New Station**.
2. Type the **Station Name** (required, unique; for example Lahore, Karachi, Multan). The **Station Code** ("Printed on every bilty number: LHR-00012.") is up to 10 capital letters and digits; **leave it blank and the software suggests one** (Multan becomes MLT). Optionally fill in **Station In-charge**, **City**, **Phone**, **Address** and **Email**.
3. Only if this station is in another country, open **Currency & Language** and set its **Currency Code**, **Symbol**, **Currency Name**, **Decimals**, **Symbol Position** and **Language** (English, Urdu, Arabic, French, Russian or Spanish). Blank means "Use main setting" from **Settings**.
4. Press **Create Station**. The message reads "Station Karachi (KHI) created with its own cash account." Every station gets its own cash account named "Cash — Karachi" the moment it is created, so its cash book starts that day.

If the code is not in capital letters and digits the form says "Use capital letters and numbers only, e.g. LHR." **The code cannot be changed after the station has booked bilties**: "The code LHR is already printed on this station's bilties and cannot be changed." A station that has booked or received anything **cannot be deleted**: "This station has bilties or challans on record — deactivate it instead." Use **Deactivate** to retire one ("Station deactivated."). An inactive station is no longer offered on the booking form.

## How do stations limit what people see?

An administrator chooses a station in the top bar to see the software as that station does, or **All Stations** to see everything at once ("Station switched successfully."). Everybody else is posted to one station on **Admin → Users** and is locked to it: they see the bilties booked there and the bilties coming there, and nothing else ([Users, roles and station permissions in Irsaal goods transport software](https://irsaalsystems.com/help/transport-users-roles-permissions)).

## On this screen: Freight Rates

Open **Operations → Freight Rates** (page **Freight Rate Card**). Rates only **suggest** the freight on the booking form and give website visitors an estimate; the clerk can always type the agreed kiraya. The suggested freight is **the higher of the minimum charge and (weight × rate per kg + packages × rate per package)**. The table shows **Route**, **Per kg**, **Per package**, **Minimum**, **Transit** and **Status** (**Active** or **Off**), with edit and remove buttons.

For example, Lahore → Karachi with **Per kg** 20, **Per package** 0 and **Minimum** 500: a 50 kg bilty suggests 1,000, and a 10 kg parcel suggests the minimum, 500.

## How do I add a route rate?

1. Under **Add a Route Rate** choose **From** and **To** stations (they must differ: "Pick two different stations."). A route can only have one rate ("That route already has a rate — edit it instead.").
2. Enter **Per kg**, **Per pkg** (per package), **Minimum** and **Transit time** (for example "1-2 days").
3. Leave **Add the return route at the same rate** ticked if the way back costs the same.
4. Press **Save Rate** ("Rate saved."). To change one, edit the row and press **Save** ("Rate updated."); to remove one, press remove ("Rate removed.").

On the booking form, when the chosen route has a rate, a box says "Rate card: Rs …" with a **Use** button ([How to book, print, edit and cancel a bilty in Irsaal goods transport](https://irsaalsystems.com/help/transport-booking-bilties)). Freight Rates needs **View** on **Freight Rate Card** (the ready-made **Booking Clerk** and **Station Manager** roles can view; only a role with **Add / Edit / Delete** changes rates).

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I add a new office or station in Irsaal goods transport software?

**Admin → Stations → Add Station**, type the name (and code, or let the software suggest one), and press **Create Station**. It gets its own cash account at once. Your plan decides how many stations you can have.

### What is the station code for?

It is printed on every bilty number booked there (LHR-00012) and on the station's challans (CH-LHR-0007). Every station keeps its own running numbers. It cannot be changed once the station has booked bilties.

### Can I delete a station?

Only one that has never booked or received anything. Otherwise deactivate it.

### Do I have to set freight rates?

No. Rates are optional. Without a rate the clerk simply types the freight, and the website shows no estimate.

### Can I show my rates on the website?

Yes: the website has a **Rates** page if you want your rate card public ([Company website, online booking and Online Users in Irsaal goods transport](https://irsaalsystems.com/help/transport-company-website)).

### Can one station use a different currency?

Yes. Under **Currency & Language** on that station, set its own currency and language. Left blank it follows **Settings**.

## Khulasa (Roman Urdu)

"Admin → Stations → Add Station" se naya daftar (station) banta hai: naam likhein aur "Station Code" khali chhor dein to software khud suggest karta hai (jaise Multan ka MLT). Har station ka apna cash account khud ban jata hai. Code bilty ke number mein chhapta hai (LHR-00012) aur jab station se bilty ban jaye to code badla nahi ja sakta; jis station par bilty ya challan ho use delete nahi kar sakte, sirf "Deactivate". "Operations → Freight Rates" mein route ka rate (per kg, per package, minimum) likhein; ye sirf bilty mein kiraya suggest karta hai, clerk apna tay shuda kiraya likh sakta hai.
