In Irsaal Water Delivery Software, an **area** is a town or sector and a **route** is one round inside it: the streets one rider covers on one trip. Customers are filed under a route, and each route has an assigned rider, so a rider's app shows their own round and nothing else. Areas and routes are set up under **Operations → Areas & Routes**. Riders are added under **System → Riders**, each with an email and password for the Irsaal Rider app.

## How do I add areas and routes?

The **Areas & Routes** screen — "Delivery zones and the rider that owns each route" — has a **Routes** list and an **Areas** list.

1. Press **Add Area**, type the **Name** (for example "Model Town") and the **City**, and press **Save**.
2. Press **Add Route**. Type the **Route Name** the way your riders already say it — "Block A Morning", "Kachehri Road" — choose its **Area**, and choose the **Assigned Rider** if the rider exists already (otherwise leave it and come back).
3. Press **Save**.

Make one route per round, not one per street: ten customers on one lane belong to the same route. The **Customers** column shows how many customers each route has. The pencil button edits a route and the red button deletes it.

If your plan limits routes, the screen says "Your plan includes … — … in use", and **Upgrade to add another** takes you to the plans.

## How do I add a rider?

1. Open **System → Riders** — "Delivery riders — they sign in on the Rider mobile app with email & password".
2. Press **Add Rider** and fill in:
   - **Name** and **Phone**.
   - **Email (app login)** — the rider's username in the app. It does not have to be a real inbox.
   - **Password** — at least 6 characters. Tell it to the rider.
   - **Branch** — if you have branches, the depot this rider works from; their app shows that branch's round only.
   - **Active** — leave ticked.
3. Press **Save Rider**.
4. Go back to **Areas & Routes** and set this rider as the **Assigned Rider** of their routes.

Riders always get the **Rider** role: they use only the mobile app, never the office panel. The rider then installs **Irsaal Rider** and signs in — see [Irsaal Rider app for water delivery riders: complete guide](https://irsaalsystems.com/help/water-rider-app).

When your plan's rider allowance is used up, **Add Rider** becomes a button such as "… of … riders used — upgrade".

## How are customers given to a rider?

Through the route: a customer on a route belongs to that route's rider. For a customer who should go to someone else, open the customer, press **Edit**, and choose them under **Assigned Rider** — the default is **— Use route's rider —**. The customer's card also has an **Assign** button for this.

A one-rider business can switch **Rider Assignment** off under **Settings → Modules**. Nobody is then filed under a particular rider, and every rider's app shows every active customer.

## A rider is on leave. How do I give their round to another rider?

Use **Leave cover**. It lends the round to another rider for the days the first one is away, and nobody has to be reassigned:

1. On **Riders**, press **Leave cover** at the top of the page, beside **Add Rider**.
2. Under **Rider on leave**, choose the rider who is away. Under **Round goes to**, choose the rider who takes over. Both lists show how many customers each rider has.
3. Set the **First day**, and the **Last day** if you know it. Leave **Last day** empty and the cover runs until you end it.
4. Optionally type a **Reason**, then press **Give the round**.

For those days the covering rider's app shows the away rider's customers, the orders booked for them and their scheduled stops, beside the rider's own — each marked with the away rider's name. An order you book for the rider on leave reaches the covering rider too. What the covering rider delivers and collects goes on their own ledger, because they are the one holding the cash.

Nothing is moved: every customer and order stays filed under its own rider, so when the last day passes each round is back with its own rider by itself. If the rider returns early, press **End cover** on the **Leave cover** list under the riders. While a cover runs, the rider who is away shows **On leave** and the other shows **Covering** in the **Status** column. Both riders get a notice in the app when a cover starts and when it ends.

A cover is refused when the round is already with somebody on those days, when the covering rider is away themselves, when the two riders belong to different branches, or when the covering rider is **Inactive** — the message says which. The button needs the **Cover a rider on leave** permission, and it is only there while **Rider Leave Cover** and **Rider Assignment** are both on under **Settings → Modules** and the business has at least two riders.

## A rider has left. How do I hand their round to someone new?

Use **Replace**, not delete:

1. On **Riders**, press the **Replace** button (two arrows) on the leaving rider's row.
2. Type the **New rider's name**, their **Email (new app login)** and a password, and optionally **Why the change**.
3. Press **Hand the round over**.

Everything stays: the new rider signs in and finds the same customers, routes, pinned doors, open ledger and delivery history. What does not carry over is the old rider's profile photo, last GPS position and sessions — every device they were signed in on is signed out. Settle the leaving rider's unsubmitted ledger days first, or those days sit under the new person's name. The **Round hand-overs** list keeps a record of every swap.

**Deleting** a rider removes their deliveries, ledger and assigned customers with them, so only delete a rider added by mistake. To stop someone signing in without losing anything, edit them and untick **Active**.

## What if my plan does not include the rider app?

The **Riders** screen says so. Riders can still be added, and their rounds are recorded in the panel on **Refill / Delivery** — but they cannot sign in to the app. The rider app is included on every plan; see [Irsaal pricing: plans for water and LPG delivery software](https://irsaalsystems.com/help/irsaal-pricing).

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the difference between an area and a route in Irsaal?

An area is a town or sector; a route is one round within it that one rider covers on one trip. Customers are filed under routes.

### How do I change which rider delivers to a customer?

Change the route's **Assigned Rider** to move the whole route, or edit the customer and pick a different **Assigned Rider** to move just that customer.

### A rider is on leave for three days. Do I have to move their customers?

No. On **Riders**, press **Leave cover**, and choose the rider who is away, the rider who takes over and the dates. That rider's app shows both rounds for those days, and everything goes back by itself afterwards.

### Does a rider need a real email address?

No. **Email (app login)** is only the username the rider types into the Irsaal Rider app.

### How do I reset a rider's password?

On **Riders**, press the edit button on their row, type a new **Password** and save. Tell the rider the new password.

### Can I see how many deliveries each rider made today?

Yes — the **Deliveries Today** column on the **Riders** screen, and **Reports → Rider Performance Report** for any period.

## Khulasa (Roman Urdu)

Area ek ilaqa hai aur route ek chakkar (round) jo ek rider ek trip mein karta hai. "Areas & Routes" mein pehle "Add Area", phir "Add Route" karein aur route ka rider chunen. Rider "System → Riders" mein "Add Rider" se banta hai: naam, phone, app ke liye email aur password. Rider chutti par ho to "Riders" ke upar "Leave cover" dabayen, chutti wala rider, doosra rider aur tareekhen chunen: un dino doosre rider ki app mein dono rounds nazar aate hain, kisi customer ka rider nahi badalta, aur aakhri din ke baad sab khud wapas ho jata hai (jaldi wapas aaye to "End cover"). Rider chala jaye to delete na karein, "Replace" button se naya rider banayen; saare customers aur history usi ko mil jati hai. Kisi ek customer ka rider badalna ho to customer ko Edit karke "Assigned Rider" chunen.
