Activity Log, backup restore and Alerts in Irsaal water software

See who added, changed or deleted anything and when, restore a backup file from Irsaal support, undo a restore, and read the message log.

Irsaal Water Delivery Software Updated 7 min read Plain text (.md)

Two safety tools in Irsaal Water Delivery Software answer the questions "who did that?" and "can we go back?". The Activity Log (System → Activity Log) records every add, change and delete in your account: who made it, from where and when. Restore a backup (on System → Import Data) puts your whole account back exactly as it was when a backup file was taken, and the restore can be undone for seven days. This guide covers both, and the Alerts page that shows every customer message the software sent.

What is the Activity Log?

The Activity Log ("Every add, change and delete in your account — who did it, from where, and when") lists every add, change and delete made from the panel or the mobile app, with who did it and when. Nothing on the screen can edit or remove a line. It needs Activity Log → View and a plan that includes the activity log add-on (on sale today with: Business). Lines older than the retention period, 180 days, are cleared automatically as new ones are written.

How do I find something in it?

Use the boxes at the top, then press Filter (Clear removes the filter):

  • Search: a customer, an invoice number, a person.
  • Who: one person, or Everybody.
  • Section: Every section, or one part of the software such as Customers or Invoices.
  • What: Anything, or one kind of action.
  • From where: Panel & app, Web panel or Mobile app.
  • From and To: a date range.

Each line shows the When, the Who (with their role), a badge for Web or App, What happened and the Section. A Support badge means the platform's support team did it while signed in to your account, and the line says "Done by platform support — … — while signed in to this account." Press the details button on a line to see every record the action touched and what each changed field was before and after. An empty screen says "Nothing recorded yet", or "Nothing matches this filter" with a hint to try a wider date range.

What is it good for?

  • A customer's balance changed and nobody knows why: search their name and read the lines with what each figure was before and after.
  • A payment or order was deleted: filter What to deletes and see who removed it and when.
  • A rider says the office changed something: filter From where to Web panel, or search the rider.

How do I restore a backup?

Use this only when Irsaal support sends you a backup file and asks you to restore it. Restore a backup is on System → Import Data, on every plan, because putting your own data back after something went wrong is not the paid bulk-import add-on. Only the account's administrator can do it; anybody else sees "Only the account's administrator can restore a backup."

  1. Open System → Import Data, find Restore a backup ("Got a backup file from our support team?"), press the file box Backup file (.xlsx, up to … MB) and choose the file exactly as support sent it. A backup ends in .xlsx.
  2. Press Check the file. Nothing is changed yet. The next screen says File checked and shows the Business in the file, its product, the Account ID, whether it is This account or A different account, when the Backup taken, and how many records and logins it holds. What comes back lists every section with its record count.
  3. Read the warning. Restoring replaces what is in the account now. Everything added or changed after the backup was taken is removed. Logins are never deleted and passwords never change (a login the file brings back signs in after a password reset).
  4. If the file came from a different account you are warned: "This backup was taken from account … not from this one. … Only continue if our support team told you to."
  5. Type your business name exactly as shown ("Type … to confirm") and press Restore this backup. The button says "Restoring — do not close this page…" while it works. Cancel and delete the uploaded file stops without changing anything.

The checked file is held for an hour ("That checked backup has expired. Upload it again and confirm within the hour."). If the restore fails part-way, everything is put back exactly as it was: "Nothing was restored — the restore stopped part-way and everything was put back exactly as it was."

Can I undo a restore?

Yes, for seven days. Before every restore the software keeps a copy of the account as it is right then. On Import Data, Undo the last restore ("Puts the account back exactly as it was on …, just before the restore") asks you to type the business name to confirm and press Undo restore. After seven days the copy is gone: "There is no restore to undo. The copy taken before a restore is kept for 7 days."

What is the Alerts page?

System → Alerts ("Alerts") is the log of every message the software sent to customers, with three channel cards (WhatsApp, SMS and Email). Each shows how many were sent, whether the channel is On or Off, and whether it is Live (provider keys entered) or Demo (messages are only logged). Configure opens Settings and Send Test sends a test message (needs Alerts → Send Test Alert). Below is the Message Log: Time, Channel, To, Event, Message and Status. "All channels are off" means nothing is switched on under Settings → Notifications. See WhatsApp and SMS alerts in Irsaal water delivery software.

Frequently asked questions

Khulasa (Roman Urdu)

"System → Activity Log" mein har add, change aur delete darj hota hai: kis ne, kahan se (Web ya App), kab aur kya badla; koi is ko badal ya mita nahi sakta, aur purani lines 180 din baad khud saaf ho jati hain. Backup sirf tab restore karein jab Irsaal support file de: "System → Import Data → Restore a backup" mein .xlsx file chun kar "Check the file" dabayen, jo wapas aayega woh parhein, business ka naam likh kar "Restore this backup" dabayen. Sirf administrator yeh kar sakta hai. Restore ke baad ka har naya record mit jata hai, lekin logins aur unke password nahi mitte, aur 7 din tak "Undo the last restore" se sab wapas ho sakta hai. "System → Alerts" mein customers ko gaye har message ka log hai.
